One of the best stock market book July 2, 2010 Mr. Partha S. Mukherjee (Sunnyvale, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I kept this book on my wishlist for nearly 3 years. The book cover always turned me off. Stan, you have a beautiful smile but I think the cover implies that you are about to sing like we see Ghazal singers back in India.
A month back I needed to buy a book and was short around $10 for free shipping so I added this book.Woo la, what a book.
The strategy is clear, simple and profitable. This book describes all part of a strategy,Entry, Stop and Exit, with absolute clarity.
One of the reviewer said that this book is better than "How to make money in stocks" and I completely agree.
I referred this books to all my colleagues in my company.
Simply put, buy it! June 6, 2010 Luis Fermi (Lima, Peru) Stan Weinstein's book gets right to the point. How to know when to go short or long, how to pick stocks, when to buy (sell short), when to sell (buy to cover). All with concise and straightforward techniques, with no out of this world indicators to mess everything up. Buy it, learn it and profit from it!
A MUST FOR INDIVIDUAL INVESTORS May 20, 2010 CARL VANDERPUTTEN DO (GRAY, MAINE) In spite of the introduction of online trading platforms and stellar improvements in trading information upon which to act this book, extremely well written, is as compelling, pertinent, and instructive as the day it was written. It goes a long way to level the playing field between professional traders and we mere trading mortals.
The author has been asked to write additional books, his reply, "all I have to say has been said in this book"; hard to argue with. That said, readers would be served with an updated version of this book, otherwise unchanged, replacing references to the arcane trading process of the day, with today's state-of-the-art processes.

I received this very quickly and the book was really NEW, not used as described. I wish this seller would sell more items.
Old but still applies April 25, 2010 Eugene Harm (Florida) Weinstein's writing style is excellent. This book covers so much material it answered just about any stock question I had. It's like having your own tutor. Evey time I had a question I soon found the answered to it. This guy knows how to convey his knowledge. The book reads easily and quick even though there are 340 small print pages. For the first time I'm able to pick winners on my own. No longer do I feel the need for a newsletter, radio show or the talking heads. I'm independent now and will never again be at the mercy of someone else.
The book covers both trading and investing. The trading techniques apply just as well today as they did when he wrote them. These are shown to work during any time in market history and will still work in the future.
I'm not just excited about what this book is doing for my trading account though but also for my company retirement account. My long term investing if you will. What to do when you only have a hand full of funds to chose from. Well now I know. This has revolutionizing my thinking with this limited account. Even if you never trade this book is well worth it for handling retirement funds effectively. I only wish I had read this book before the market collapse a little over a year ago.
Lastly I've been able to apply his pencil and paper charting techniques using modern day computing power with ease. I'm re-reading the book now and find it just as captivating as the first read. Captivating? Yes, strangely enough, yes. It not only instructs it encourages.
The irony of it all is this book is long forgotten and can be purchase for a few dollars.
