Product Description
A revolutionary approach to the concept of leadership, one that makes sense of how leadership can be bottom-up as well as top-down. Challenges conventional wisdom to create a powerful new way of looking at leadership that greatly enhances the empowerment and engagement of all employees with the courage to take a leadership stand. Bound to be controversial as it argues that leadership is just a matter of promoting new directions, that it has nothing to do with managing a team to get things done. That is a management task where management is upgraded to be empowering, supportive and facilitative, not merely controlling.

5 out of 5 stars The definitive book on Leadership!   March 5, 2010
Paul (Denver, CO)
I've been a student of leadership for some time, and I must acknowledge that "Burn! Leadership Myths in Flames" is simply the most thought-provoking and relevant work on leadership that I've ever read. If you want to get a definitive clarification on the essential qualities of what defines a leader, today and in the future, as opposed to what defines a manager than read this book. Mitch McCrimmon provides a framework for the oncoming leadership paradigm shift and brings hope to a world in desparate need of authentic innovative leaders! If a beginning learner were to buy one book on leadership, this is it. The second book I'd recommend is Jim Collins, "Good to Great."
