Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing is a slightly irreverent, straightforward guide to investing for everyone. The book offers sound, practical advice, no matter what your age or net worth. Bottomline, become a Boglehead and prosper! Originally just the chat-line ruminations of Boglehead founder Taylor Larimore, and Morningstar forum leading cohorts Mel Lindauer and Michael LeBoeuf, their trusted advice has been brewed and distilled into an easy-to-use, need-to-know, no frills guide to building up your own financial well-being – so you can worry less and profit more from the investments you make. Invest like a Boglehead, and let their grassroots investment wisdom guide you down the path of long-term wealth creation and happiness, without all the worries and fuss of stock pickers and day traders. If you face a financial crisis or problem, or simply want to know what is prudent to do with the money you save, the Bogleheads will have the answers you need to help you gain your financial footing and keep it.

5 out of 5 stars My beginner guide to investing   April 13, 2010

After considering to open a Roth-IRA, i bought this book as guide on how to invest. Soon I discovered the forum as well which is also very helpful for new investor. The authors are not financial experts and their opinion is based on their experience with investing and does not promote anything, also have very good advise on what things to avoid.

no need to play around with individual stock to get invested. this guide is what a novice investor needs. should be a very good gift to friends.

4 out of 5 stars A Good Book   February 16, 2010
Petrocelli (Los Angeles)
This is a good book. It summarizes much information which is found elsewhere. I think of it more as a reference guide than a book to be read beginning to end.

My main criticism is that it covers to much ground, and touches on subjects from investing to wills to 529 plans to insurance. As such, it lacks focus. It is almost too abmbitious in its scope. Still, if you follow the advice in the chapters on investing, you should do very well.

If you are interested in investing, go straight to the source and read Jack Bogle's Little Book of Common Sense Investing. It is better written. This book could be a follow up to that book.

Still, this book is worth reading and is better than 90% of investing books out there. I have given copies of the book to others and they have always responded favorably.

4 out of 5 stars Mutual funds.   February 15, 2010

Very informative in the use of Mutual funds as a investing tool yet I am not sure I agree with it totally. However, for one who wnts a solid basic way to build wealth this is an excellent tool to have around

This is a good basic guide to investing and finance. It covers subjects from investing in mutual funds, getting insurance, to long term care as a person gets older.
